The Library is the place to go when you need books for short periods of time. Textbooks, which you will need for a whole semester, should not be requested from the Library. Instead textbooks should be purchased from the College's bookstore or from another bookstore. In some cases you may be able to buy your books used or even rent your textbooks instead of buying them at full-price.
If you are a student at either the Springfield, MA or Boston, MA campus here is a link to your bookstore. The bookstore carries the textbooks for the classes at both these campuses, sometimes has used books and may offer some textbooks for rent. If you are at the Springfield, MA campus you may visit the bookstore's brick-and-mortar location on the lower lever of the Campus Union.
If you a student at any of the other Springfield College campuses here is a link to your bookstore. It carries the textbooks for the classes for these campuses and sometimes has used books.
Of course there are many other bookstores and used bookstores you could go to as well. Most bookstores will be able to order your new books for you. If you decide to look for a used book make sure to get the right edition. Sometimes you may be able to use an older edition of your textbook, but you should check with your professor and make sure the edition you choose is acceptable before you buy it.
